Extra-Curricular Activities
School Kitchen Garden
Our school is blessed to have the advantage of not only a substantial plot of land dedicated to growing vegetables and fruits, but also excellent preparation and cooking facilities in our state-of-the-art school kitchen/canteen. Under the guidance of garden guru 'Mr Tim' Lowry, each class has a fortnightly garden experience, often culminating in the preparation, cooking, and eating of a wide range of foods. Through this program students also learn about stewardship and sustainability.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
All students attend weekly PE sessions. In addition to this the school runs a swimming carnival for Years 3 to 6, swimming lessons for Years 2 to 5, athletics carnival for Prep to Year 6 and cross country for prep to Year 6. Students competing in these events then potentially have the opportunity to compete in inter-school events. Additional experiences are offered for some grades, including surfing lessons. Lunch time activities such as volleyball, indoor bowls and table tennis are also offered at various times throughout the year.
MUSIC
Students from Kinder to Year 6 attend weekly music lessons. There is also the opportunity for students to be involved in various choral programs throughout the year.
STEM
It is a requirement that all year levels teach Technologies, as well as Science and Mathematics. Students in Years 5 & 6 also have the opportunity to be involved in First Lego League, which is a heavily STEM related project that involves programming Lego Robots.
DRAMA
As well as doing drama in all year levels, students in Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to be involved in the Deloraine Drama Festival through a school coordinated play, and the Devonport Eisteddfod.
LIBRARY
Students from all year levels attend Library once per week and are encouraged to select new books each week to take home and read in class.
